Monitoring Student Achievement
Student acheivement is monitored in a variety of ways in the Kenosha Unified School District.
- Progress Reports to Parents
Progress reports are issued four times per year, at the end of each quarter at the elementary, middle and senior high level. By Board Policy, progress reports are only required for students not successful in school.
- Parent Teacher Conferences
Conferences are held two times per year at the elementary, middle school and senior high school levels. Conferences with teachers at all levels are encouraged and may be scheduled by calling the school.
- Open Houses
Open houses are held annually at all District schools. In addition, individual schools offer manuy programs designed to help parents get involved with the education of their children.
- The Iowa Tests of Basic Skills
- Advanced Placement Courses
AP course work is available to students enrolled at the senior high level. These are rigorous courses which may allow students to receive college credit for knowledge attained prior to high school graduation.
- Board of Education Recognition
Recognition of students who have won academic and vocational honors at regional, state or national levels is conducted on a regular basis. It has been the continuing policy of the Board to cite students for attaining excellence.
