Visit Gateway's Web site at http://www.gtc.edu UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-PARKSIDE The University of Wisconsin-Parkside, located on 700 acres of rolling woodland and prairie on the outskirts of Kenosha, is one of 13 degree-granting campuses in the University of Wisconsin system. Approximately 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled in this four-year institution. Students may choose from majors in the schools of Liberal Arts, Science and Technology, Business and Education. The MBA program is designed for working professionals; a master's in applied molecular biology is also offered. A weekend degree program is available for those interested in a degree completing program. There is a fast track Teacher Certification program for those individuals who already have a content area degree but desire a teaching certificate. University of Wisconsin-Parkside Carthage College, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, is a private liberal arts and sciences college with a 147-year tradition of excellence in education. Some 30 majors lead to the Bachelor of Arts degree. The College also awards the Master in Education degree. Small classes ensure personal attention. Through evening and Saturday classes, students may earn a bachelor of arts degree majoring in: Accounting, Business Administration, Elementary Education, Marketing, and Social Work. Adult learners may earn a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies in the Natural Sciences - a new undergraduate program which joins science with business. Accelerated Carthage Education (ACE) Qualified adult learners may earn a bachelor of arts in business administration in an accelerated manner. Classes meet one night each week for five weeks. Students may complete the program in as few as two years. Paralegal Generalist Program The Paralegal Generalist Program prepares adults for careers as paralegals. Each intensive 14-week session provides three four-credit courses toward a paralegal generalist certificate. Master in Education Those with a teaching certificate may choose a concentration in:
Contact for College at Night can be made at: The Mary J. Eller Cultural Center, located in the basement of Denhart Hall, opened January 15, 1996. When visiting the center one can see handcarved sculptures, clothing, carvings, utensils, musical instruments and other artifacts from various east African tribes, weavings from Zuni, Hopi and Navajo Indians tribes of North America, and handpainted ceramics from China. The focus is "to have every culture on the globe represented, so that it's truly a multicultural center," says Laura Rogers, Carthage director of multicultural affairs and community outreach.
