KUSD seeks members for auditorium naming committee

Kenosha Unified School District invites members of the public to join a naming committee that will review recommendations for the Reuther auditorium. Individuals interested in serving on the committee should submit their interest in writing no later than Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018. The district will review letters of interest and appoint/notify the committee by Friday, Aug. 17. Those interested in serving on the committee must be available to meet on Wednesday, Aug. 22, and Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Educational Support Center, 3600 52nd St. If additional time is needed, additional dates will be scheduled accordingly.

When considering potential names for other spaces within the district, the following excerpt from Board Policy 7400 shall be kept in mind:

  1. Other spaces may only be named after a person.
  2. Individuals must be deceased for at least two years before they may be nominated.
  3. Individuals who are nominated must be limited to those who have historical significance, have performed exemplary service in the community or for humanity, have displayed outstanding leadership and/or are of exemplary moral character.
  4. First consideration shall be given to local persons, but consideration may also be given to state, national and international persons.

Letters of interest and/or name suggestions should be mailed to the Educational Support Center, Attn: Georgia Nisich, 3600 52nd St., Kenosha, WI 53144, emailed to Georgia Nisich at gnisich@kusd.edu or faxed to 262-359-7381 by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
