Recreation Department’s Fine Arts summer programming


For students in grades 1-8.

KYPAC (Kenosha Youth Performing Arts Company), is a musical theatre program designed for students entering first grade through ninth grade. Students receive training in dance and choreography, acting, staging and singing, while preparing to perform their production of Seussical Jr. before a live audience on the Bradford stage. Students will identify, strengthen and enhance their performance skills, self-esteem and self-expression while working as a team to put together a professional fully staged musical. Students will attend rehearsals Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. beginning Monday, June 25. Auditions will take place on May 15, 16 and 17 from 4:30-8 p.m. in the Harborside/Reuther Auditorium.

Summer Classics Theatre

​For students in grades 9-12.

Students in grades 9- 12 who are looking for a theatre experience can enroll in Summer Classics Theatre. Summer Classics Theatre is an intense theatre program for high school students. This program is designed to deepen the student's understanding and ability to perform on stage. The basic workshops are acting, voice, theatre combat, movement, writing, stagecraft, and costuming. There will also be a play writing workshop. Some plays from this workshop may be performed as part of the showcase. All rehearsals and performances  will be at Indian Trail High School Theater. 6800 60th Street. Rehearsals will begin Monday, June 18 and will run 8 a.m. until 12 noon Monday through Friday. ​Rambler Band

For students in grades 7 or 8.

Classes will meet Tuesdays in late May and early June from 6-8 pm, and Tuesdays through Thursdays from 1-4 pm from June 19 through July 17 and includes participation in a mandatory band camp June 14-16 at St. John’s Military Academy. A complete schedule of rehearsals and performances will be distributed to the students before the end of the school year. Band of the BlackWatch

​For students in grades 9-11.

Membership in BlackWatch includes participation in a mandatory band camp June 13-16 at Carroll University in Waukesha. In July, the band will be traveling to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
