KUSD has implemented the use of Google email accounts for all students in grades 3-12. There is an email assigned to every student in the district, but grades K-2 have not yet been launched.
The district is focused on the use of technology in the classroom, and providing student email is simply another way that we can help to develop ethical digital users. The district will send emails to students containing classroom updates, upcoming events and other information that pertains to them as necessary.
We encourage all parents and students to review the Student Technology Acceptable Use Policy 6633 to ensure proper usage of this tool.
The use of a student email account is not mandated at this time, and parents have the ability to disable their student’s email account at any time. To opt-out, a parent will need to contact their child’s school and request to have the respective student email account disabled. Parents will have access to the account if their child provides them with their user name and password.
