Science/ Social Studies As an elementary and middle school science and math teacher, I have journeyed through teaching experiences in Milwaukee, Madison, and Mount Horeb, WI before joining the Lance Crew. I believe in the power of building things in class to engage students, fostering an environment where students help each other and learn to participate in discussions with thoughtfulness and kindness. Outside the classroom, you may find me experimenting in the world of encaustic wax art, exploring the great outdoors through hiking and trail running, or redecorating spaces in my home, all while tending to my beloved German Shepherd named Loki and reveling in the charm of chores alongside goats and cows.

English/ Social Studies I have been a passionate educator for 4 years, and I believe in creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for all students. My approach to teaching emphasizes hands-on experiences and interactive activities, as I find that students learn best when they can actively participate in their education. Whether it’s through experiments, projects, or real-world applications, I strive to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.
In addition to my role as a teacher, I also work part-time as a realtor. This experience has given me a unique perspective on the importance of real-life skills and problem-solving. I often draw on my knowledge from the real estate world to provide students with practical examples and enrich their learning experiences. I am excited to bring this additional insight into our classroom and to help students make connections between their studies and the world around them.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year. Open communication between home and school is essential for your child’s success, so please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Together, we can make this a fantastic year of growth and learning

Math/ Social Studies Hello! My name is Mr. Duncan. I am a third year teacher here at Lance, and I have loved it even more than I dared hope. A little bit about me is that I love music, sports (specifically soccer, which I played at Carthage College), and my family. I am the youngest of seven kids, and most of my siblings are teachers too! I earned my master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in August of 2023, and I intend to be a life-long learner–a characteristic I hope to model to my students.
