Principal
Meet our Principal
Welcome to Nash Elementary!
I’m Brett Basley, and I’ve had the privilege of serving as Principal here for the past 9 years. My journey in education began as a physical education and health teacher at McKinley Middle School. Since then, I’ve held roles such as Assistant Principal at Washington Middle School and Dean of Students at McKinley Middle. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
I strongly believe in the Nash values of kindness, respect, and hard work. Every child deserves an outstanding educational experience in an environment that feels like family. At Nash Elementary, we embrace the “Nash Promise,” which includes fostering a positive school culture where every student is valued and supported. I actively encourage parents and the community to get involved as much as possible to create a unified educational experience.
We’re very fortunate to have a highly qualified staff at Nash Elementary who are not only experts in their fields but also kind-hearted professionals with great customer service. They collaboratively strive to bring out the best in our students. Personally, as a parent of three children, all of whom have attended Nash Elementary, I have a deep personal investment in our school community.
Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and our two Goldendoodles, Emmie and Gianni. I’m a passionate fan of the Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers, always rooting for them during their seasons. I also love to travel and hope to visit every island in the Caribbean someday.
I’m passionate about personalized learning, creating engaging opportunities, and tailoring learning paths to unlock each student’s full potential. I strongly advocate for service learning to nurture lifelong skills in leadership and productivity.
Come join us at Nash Elementary, where we uphold the “Nash Promise” by fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive and succeed.
Sincerely yours,
Brett Basley
