Commitment to Excellence

Nash is excited to announce the launch of our School Improvement Plan, a focused effort to ensure we continually grow and provide the best possible learning environment for our students. This plan is not just about addressing challenges—it’s about embracing opportunities to enhance our academic programs, strengthen community engagement, and foster a culture of excellence. Every member of our school community plays a vital role in this journey, and together, we will build on our strengths, learn from our experiences, and move forward with a shared commitment to progress. With a positive mindset, dedication to continuous improvement and intentional reflection on our practice we are determined and confident that we will create even greater opportunities for our students to thrive.

Student Achievement

Goal: Student Achievement

By spring 2027, the district will increase the percentage of students scoring meeting or advanced in reading and math by 12%, as measured by state assessments.

Strategy 1: Ensure that all students receive high-quality instruction, grade level content, deep engagement and high expectations through the effective use of data.

  • Implement various educator collaborative structures for the continuous improvement of Tier 1 instruction.
  • Implement collaborative reflective practices to drive continuous improvement of high quality instruction.
  • Utilize formative assessment data to drive instruction.
  • Tier 3 Intervention Implementation.
  • Continue to implement and improve our current systems that place a very high importance on collective efficacy, schedule efficiencies, and data-driven decision making.
  • Professional development on implementing specially designed instruction, modification, differentiation, and personalized learning with opportunities for peer observations.

Strategy 2: Cultivate a safe, positive learning environment.

  • Implement initiatives that promote respect and inclusivity among students.
  • Engage students in authentic ways to gather input and feedback regarding their learning experience
  • Professional learning around social emotional learning and trauma sensitive teaching.
  • Celebrate student success, kindness, respect, hard work, leadership through various forums including assemblies, our morning news program, and special events throughout the year.
  • Promoting student success, core values, and various characteristics that align with our school’s vision through our morning news program.

Strategy 3: Foster and strengthen family and community engagement.

  • Interview families to gather authentic input and feedback regarding school improvement.
  • Expand family engagement experiences that include genuine parent and teacher collaboration.
  • Provide the opportunity for families to collaborate with faculty to participate in a book study, “The Anxious Generation” that covers very relevant topics in our community. These sessions can lead to discussions and reflections that could help us all structure our environments to improve routines, habits, and possibly reduce anxiety in our children. This would also give us valuable insight as to why we might be seeing a rise in anxiety and other mental health issues in the last two decades.
  • Provide numerous opportunities throughout the year for our families to come into the school and participating in our learning community alongside staff and students. Examples: B.O.Y. Nash Bash, gratitude week, kindness week, two family nights, the wax museum, among many other curricular and extra curricular events Nash holds throughout the year.
