Pleasant Prairie Elementary is excited to announce the launch of our School Improvement Plan, a focused effort to ensure we continually grow and provide the best possible learning environment for our students. This plan is not just about addressing challenges—it’s about embracing opportunities to enhance our academic programs, strengthen community engagement, and foster a culture of excellence. Every member of our school community plays a vital role in this journey, and together, we will build on our strengths, learn from our experiences, and move forward with a shared commitment to progress. With a positive mindset, dedication to continuous improvement and intentional reflection on our practice we are determined and confident that we will create even greater opportunities for our students to thrive.

Student Achievement

Goal: Student Achievement

By spring 2027, the district will increase the percentage of students scoring meeting or advanced in reading and math by 12%, as measured by state assessments.

Strategy 1: Ensure that all students receive high-quality instruction, grade level content, deep engagement and high expectations through the effective use of data.

  • Content Rounds to identify the level of use of high quality instructional strategies and follow up professional learning.
  • Content rounds for K-5 in ELA.
  • Act 20 professional development.

Strategy 2: Cultivate a safe, positive learning environment.

  • Professional learning that supports continuous improvement of systems that foster a consistent, organized and respectful learning environment that teachers, assesses and supports social behaviors and expectations.
  • Consistently reteach and review PPE tier 1 socio-emotional expectations and trauma sensitive teaching practices for all staff.
  • Review of tier 1 behavioral/socio-emotional expectations for staff.
  • Review/revise systems for Tiers 1-3 behavior as needed per needs in the building.

Strategy 3: Foster and strengthen family and community engagement.

  • Expand family engagement experiences that include genuine parent and teacher collaboration.
  • Parent book study beginning in January.
  • Continue with monthly parent nights and parent feedback for improvement.
