Our Philosophy

Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS), is a multidisciplinary field focused on improving the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities. FCS educators teach personal and professional skills through classes in our 8 content areas. (Culinary Arts,  Hospitality, and Tourism, Education and Training, Food Science and Nutrition, Health Management and Wellness, Housing and Interior Design, Human/Child Development, Personal and Family Finance and Textiles, Apparel and Retailing)   FCS equips people with practical tools to make informed decisions, fostering well-being, sustainability, and healthy relationships. Ultimately, it empowers individuals, families, and communities to thrive in today’s complex world. Sustainable practices, consumerism, and leadership principles are woven throughout the content areas.
