STEM Drone Competition

Tremper Regional Qualifiers in Drone Competition

Tremper had 3 teams participate in the inaugural Aerial Drone Competition at Carthage College on Saturday, Feb. 1st.  Competing were 20 teams – most of which were other KUSD Middle and High Schools.  The all day competition included piloting skills mission, autonomous mission (code written to fly the drone on its own), and the teamwork mission where teams were paired with another team to score points via obstacles.

Tremper won two of the events, Team 3 won the Coding Award and Team 2 won the prestigious Communications Award.  The win of the Communications Award, which was judged throughout the competition and included an interview with judges and documentation in an engineering notebook, qualified the team to compete in the North Central Regionals competition in Michigan.

Congratulations to Liam, Ryan, Lydia, and Josh for qualifying for Regionals!
